Hi, I am an Ophthalmologist (Eye specialist). I completed my postgraduation in 2000 and thereafter joined as a Senior Resident in the Department of Ophthalmology in Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh (India), which is one of the pioneer institutes of the world. Here I worked in all the fields of Ophthalmology, be it Cornea, Retina, Squint, Oculoplastics, Cataract, Glaucoma etc. Along with the clinical work I also published papers, both in international and national journals. I even received a best paper award in the National Conference of Ophthalmology held in Ahemdabad in 2002.My surgical expertise is towards anterior segment and cornea. I am well versed with Stitch less cataract surgery (Phacoemulsification), Cornea transplant surgery (Keratoplasties), Glaucoma surgeries, Amniotic membrane (from the placenta of the baby) transplant surgeries. Besides anterior segment, I also have experience in Retina surgery and its laser. I have written quite a few research papers, both in international and national journals. I also won best paper award in the National Conference of Ophthalmology in 2002. This is as far as the professional description is concerned. Otherwise I believe – ‘All work and no play makes a person grey”. And this motto in life is fully supported by my husband Dr. Gaurav Gupta, who is a Pediatrician. I am into adventure holidays like camping, river rafting, rippling etc. Also my interest lies in creative art like glass painting, quilting, embroidery, multicuisine cooking. The daily routine of office and home can be sometimes difficult to cope. To deal with the stress I prefer to do meditation and breathing exercises like pranayam. As for the rest, I enjoy a good social life and partying as time permits.
